The auditorium was filled completely, in fact beyond it's capacity, and every one was waiting excitedly for the man himself-K.K to come on stage. Everybody was hooting and cheering for him, packs of people here and there were discussing his songs, and the girls were screaming out his name, a typical concert experience.
He didn't make us wait for long. The concert started exactly on the scheduled time, and as the he walked towards the audience and began to speak, they all turned insane!
The best thing about the concert was the fact that since it was in an auditorium with limited seating, only his closest fan's were there. It was just the perfect atmosphere to make the evening a special one.
With every song that he sang that evening, he also shared stories, to which the crowd listened with great admiration For those three hours he spent with us, not even once did any of us feel he was a celebrity. He was humble and so charming, that one could not help but fall in love with him.
The most magical thing about K.K and his songs is the fact that they have been an integral part of the childhood days of most of my generation. We have grown up listening to his songs, living them, most of our memories are attached to them. And it felt so emotional to listen to all those songs, along with hundreds of others who shared similar experiences. Everybody swayed their hands and joined him in singing his most famous tracks. There was a feeling of oneness...everyone came together, chatted, laughed and sang...there were no differences. Music definitely the power to bring people together!
This song in particular was able to create an ambiance, that no other song could achieve. "Yaaro dosti Badi hi haseen hai..." and every one was in tears. I saw most of them, including my friends, pick up their phone and call their dear ones and make them listen to it. Love, smiles, tears, applause, friendship, it was a mix of everything. People held hands and swayed and surrendered to spell that moment had conjured.
I am most certain that not one of us remember the faces of all those who had come that evening, but in that moment, so many hearts came together...and that is something none of us will ever forget!
